API 6A Flange Material

API Flange Material is used to produce flanges of high temperature service with high strength to be used in oil and explosive gas applications. Difference between API 6a Blind and api 6a bx flange

The API 6a is a specification by the American Petroleum Institute. The blind flanges are used to terminate a connection completely and are not connected to more pipes. The bx flanges are ring type joint flanges which are connected to two pipes. The bx flanges do not stop the flow of fluid either liquid or gas whereas the blind flanges do stop the flow. The ring type joint flanges are easy to install and have a high efficiency of sealing the connections in a line. The blind flanges are used to terminate the flow or pipeline.
