There are different types of flanges. The ASTM A182 gr F316l Slip on Flange is made up of the A182 specification and it allows two pipes to slip through the flange, so that it could be positioned well before being welded. Which pressure rating of a182 grade f316 flange is suitable for the marine applications?

The marine applications require high corrosion resistant material. The a182 grade f316 flanges are of high corrosion resistant material. The pressure ratings depend on the depth at which the applications are going to be used. The flanges can range from 150 to 2500 class of pressure ratings. In shallow and surface water usually the flanges under class 400 are used. In deep sea applications the high pressure classes up to 2500 could be used. The depths, the pressure ratings and diameters could be chosen based on different property tables such as BS 10 table D and Table E.
